The Birth of Phoenix
Magie gave birth to our second daughter today at the Dr. Jesus C. Delgado Memorial Hospital in Quezon City. At 5.6 pounds and 49 centimeters, this Phoenix is definitely more than a Jean Grey or Rachel Summers. =)

perl-Mail-SpamAssassin-2.55-1.i386.rpm
Mail::SpamAssassin is a perl module used to identify spam e-mail using text analysis and several Internet-based real-time blacklists. I repackaged Theo Van Dinter's RPM which was built for RedHat 7.3 and perl 5.6.1 to work with Red Hat 9.0 and perl 5.8.0. Canonical source is at spamassassin.org.
piranha-0.7.0-5.i686.rpm
Piranha is a set of tools to administer and configure the Linux Virtual Server, a dynamically adjusted kernel routing mechanism that provides load balancing for web and ftp servers via heartbeat and failover components.
portsentry-1.1-11.i686.rpm
PortSentry is a program which stops port scanners by dropping of local routes, dynamic packet filter changes, or by denying attacking hosts via TCP wrappers - all in real-time. Here's my take at packaging this cool utility from Craig Rowland. Canonical source used to be at www.psionic.com until the domain was taken over by Cisco. For those interested, you can download it here.
postfix-2.0.18-4.i686.rpm
Postfix is a highly-efficient and highly-secure Mail Transport Agent written by Wietse Venema. This package supports MySQL - no need to hunt for the elusive postfix-mysql RPM on the Internet. Canonical source is at porcupine.org.
postfix-pflogsumm-2.0.18-4.i686.rpm
Pflogsumm is a log analyzer designed to provide an overview of Postfix activity. It generates summaries and, in some cases, detailed reports of mail server traffic volumes, rejected and bounced email, server warnings, errors, and panics. Canonical source is at porcupine.org.
spamassassin-2.55-1.i386.rpm
SpamAssassin is an e-mail spam filter which can be invoked from mail delivery agents. This distribution includes the spamd/spamc components that considerably speed up mail processing. I repackaged Theo Van Dinter's RPM which was built for RedHat 7.3 and perl 5.6.1 to work with Red Hat 9.0 and perl 5.8.0. Canonical source is at spamassassin.org.
Trained by the Best
Richard Keech, RHCE, RHCX conducted my RHCE and RHCX training & certification in his capacity as Red Hat Asia-Pacific's Chief Instructor. Before we parted ways, he congratulated me for becoming the first Filipino RHCX. I told him that I was trained by the best =)
The "Silent Waters Run Deep" Equation
Elvin Joseph Sanico was one of the best professors I was privileged to have at the UP National Institute of Physics in Diliman. His use of the continuity equation for steady one-dimensional flow to prove the "silent waters run deep" axiom was really cool!
Engels started playing with Linux in 1991 and obtained his Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) and Red Hat Certified Examiner (RHCX) certifications in 2002. He is in charge of Bluepoint's Total Linux, Linux Kernel Internals, Perl Programming, Extreme PHP, and Java Development programs CID and its Lalainya and Buhawi projects. /* Conveniently yanked from the Bluepoint Institute profile page */
