Batangas ranks sixth among the largest provinces in the Southern Tagalog Region. It is bounded on the north by Cavite, on the east by the provinces of Quezon and Laguna, on the south by the Verde Island Passage, and on the west by the South China Sea. Among the multitude of popular tourism activities to be had in the province are heritage tours, pilgrimage tours, scuba diving, shopping, mountain climbing and trekking, swimming, and snorkeling. Batangueños are bilingual, with Tagalog and English as the basic languages used in business, government, schools, and everyday communication. Batangas is located only 110 kilometers south of Metropolitan Manila, and is very accessible from the national capital by land.

Lyceum of the Philippines envisions itself as a center of academic excellence established for the purpose of molding the Filipino youth dedicated to the service of God, country and humanity. Guided by the motto "Veritas et Fortitudo" and founded on the precepts of developing God-loving Filipinos imbued with the spirit of service, self-sacrifice, genuine love for the truth, enlightened and assertive nationalism, and high sense of moral integrity, Lyceum is committed to the formation of the integral person.
